Before you start: install Tab Widgets
Tab Widgets is free on Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Install it, open a new tab, and your dashboard is ready. You don't need an account.
Step 1: Add a widget
- Click the Add widget (+) button in the top bar.
- Search the library of 80+ widgets, for example for weather.
- Click Add widget.
There are widgets for nearly everything: a clock, weather, notes, to-do lists, your calendar and inbox, news and RSS feeds, stocks, music and even pixel pets.
Step 2: Set it up
Each widget has its own settings, which open when you add it. For the Weather widget, you can pick your own city:
- Type your city into the location box.
- Pick it from the list.
- Click Create widget.
To change a widget's settings later, turn on Edit Mode in the top bar and click the widget's settings button.
Step 3: Move and resize widgets
- Turn on Edit Mode.
- Drag a widget to move it.
- Drag a widget's bottom-right corner to resize it.
- Turn Edit Mode off again when your page looks right.
Step 4: Change the wallpaper and theme
- Open Settings.
- In the Wallpaper tab, search thousands of free photos, pick one and click Set global wallpaper.
- In the General tab, switch between light and dark mode under Color Scheme.
Step 5: Add pages
Pages keep things organized, for example a page for work and another for everything else.
- Click the New page button in the top bar.
- Give it a name, like Work.
- Click Create page.
Switch between your pages with the tabs at the top.
Step 6: Use the dock
For tools you only need now and then, there's the dock at the bottom of the page. It holds spaces, like Focus or Music, each with its own widgets. Click a space to open it. Use Add space in the dock to make your own.
The dock is on every page, so its widgets are always a click away. You can turn it off in General settings.
What's free, and what's in Pro
Everything in the video works on the free plan, with up to 10 widgets and up to 2 pages and dock spaces combined. Pro adds unlimited widgets, pages and dock spaces, cloud sync across your browsers, and premium widgets like Gmail, Google Calendar and Spotify.
